Default: Off (fastest)
This setting only applies when "Use a separate cable for shutter release" is set to "Yes".
Change this setting to fit your image settings and camera model when using a shutter cable. The default setting is "Off", this equates to no extra delay and allows Promote Control to provide the fastest operation. However, depending on the combination of camera settings and camera processor speed, certain camera models may not be able to record images quickly enough. If you experience lost frames in "High Dynamic Range" mode when using a shutter cable, choosing a longer delay setting may help. If you experience lost frames only after a certain number of shots are taken, the probable cause is the camera image buffer is not large enough to hold all the images at once. In this case, use
an adaptive delay setting as described below. If you experience lost frames starting from the first exposure or frames are missing before 5 shots are taken, use a constant delay option from the list below. Start with a lower delay setting and increase it until all the images are taken successfully.
Available options are listed below in order of fastest to slowest:
•Off - This is the default setting. It disables any extra delay and attempts to take pictures as fast as possible.
•Adaptive on >11 shots - This will slow down image capture after taking 11 shots. Use this setting when you experience lost frames at some point after 11 frames are taken.
•Adaptive >7 shots - This will slow down image capture after taking 7 shots. Use this setting when you experience lost frames at some point after 7 frames are taken.
•Adaptive >5 shots - This will slow down image capture after taking 5 shots. use this setting when you experience lost frames at some point after 5 frames are taken.
•Constant – 500ms - This setting adds a constant delay of 500 milliseconds (0.5 seconds) when using a shutter cable. Use this when you experience randomly lost frames.
•Constant – 1000ms - This setting adds a constant delay of 1000 milliseconds (1 second) when using a shutter cable. Use this when you experience randomly lost frames and other settings do not provide sufficient delay.
•Constant – 1500ms - This setting adds a constant delay of 1500 milliseconds (1.5 seconds) when using a shutter cable. Use this when you experience randomly lost frames and other settings do not provide sufficient delay.
•Constant – 2000ms - This setting adds a constant delay of 2000 milliseconds (2 seconds) when using a shutter cable. Use this when you experience randomly lost frames and other settings do not provide sufficient delay.
•Constant – 2500ms - This setting adds a constant delay of 2500 milliseconds (2.5 seconds) when using a shutter cable. Use this when you experience randomly lost frames and other settings do not provide sufficient delay.
