Promote Control can start taking pictures by receiving commands from optional external remote sensors. This allow image captures activated by a manual remote signal, noise, light, crossing an invisible path, or other remote activation events.
Promote Control is compatible with any type of sensor that can trigger shutter of a Canon EOS Rebel digital camera. The Promote Control Remote Sensor Port is a 2.5mm stereo plug with a pin out equal to that of a Canon EOS Rebel remote shutter release port. Please consult Promote Systems Support for more information on connecting your custom devices to the Promote Control Remote Sensor Port.
Use the following workflow with remote sensors:
1.Connect Promote Control to the camera as described in Connections section.
2.Connect the remote sensor to the remote sensor port described in Interfaces section. No further setup is required.
3.If the remote sensor activation is expected to take a long time, increase or disable the Auto Power-Off option in the Setup Menu to prevent Promote Control from turning itself off before the sensor can activate.
4.Position the remote sensor as appropriate. When a connected remote sensor is activated, the Promote Control acts as if the "Start" button was pressed.
Remote sensors can be used in all modes except Bulb Ramping and Bulb HDR, where the remote sensor port is occupied by a Bulb Ramping / Bulb HDR Assistant Kit.
